Italian-American PAC supports Dems in special election

With the special election around the corner, Assemblymember David Weprin, candidate for former Congressmember Anthony Weiner’s ninth congressional seat and Assembly District 23 candidate Phil Goldfeder recently picked up an endorsement from the Italian American Political Action Committee (PAC).
“We know David will be a strong advocate for small businesses and seniors and we look forward to having a partner like him in Congress,” said James Lisa, president of the Italian American PAC, in front of Brother’s Italian Food World in Howard Beach.
“I’m not a Johnny-come-lately with the Italian-American community,” said Weprin, who cited his support against negative depictions of Italians in various forms of media. “We had one of our most productive sessions in the history of New York (in the Assembly) and I give our Italian-American governor a lot of credit for that.” – Bob Doda
