Watch candidates’ debates

Victoria Schneps-Yunis, publisher of The Queens Courier, moderated two debates on Queens Public Television (QPTV) with candidates running in two state Assembly District Special Elections.
Schneps-Yunis spoke with Philip Goldfeder and Jane Deacy, candidates in Assembly District 23 and with Michael Simanowitz and Marco DeSena, candidates in Assembly District 27.
The debates were hosted by QPTV in conjunction with The Queens Courier and the New York City Campaign Finance Board.
Those debates will air on the following dates and times:

Assembly District 23:

Friday, September 2; 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, September 6; 7 p.m.
Friday, September 9; 7:30 p.m.

Assembly District 27:

A reporter for The Queens Courier moderated a debate with Bob Turner, David Weprin and Christopher Hoeppner, candidates for the 9th Congressional District seat.
Candidates running in the 28th City Council district race – Councilmember Ruben Wills, David Kayode, Clifton Stanley Diaz, and Allan Jennings Jr. – sat down and answered a few questions with the reporter.

The primary and special elections are September 13. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
