A driver was injured after his car collided with a tree on a Woodhaven roadway early on Sunday morning, Feb. 12, it was reported. According to Fire Department sources, the one-car accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Forest Parkway and Park Lane South. Members of Engine Co. 293, Squad Co. 270, Ladder Co. 143, Battalion 51, the 102nd Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. Firefighters used the Hurst tool-commonly known as the “jaws of life”-to free the driver, who was trapped inside the damaged vehicle. The motorist was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for treatment of injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
