Honored For Contributions In The Community Queens Centers for Progress (QCP) hosted their annual “Evening of Fine Food” on Feb. 7 at Terrace on the Park at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. As noted, two individuals were honored during the event as “Chefs of the Year” for their contributions in the community. This year’s honorees were Linda DeSabato, president of Vallo Transportation, and Martha Taylor, an attorney and community activist. In the top photo, Taylor and DeSabato (left and second from left, respectively) are shown receiving engraved frying pan plaques from Committee Chair Michael J. Macaluso (second from right) and QCP Director of Development Maryann McAleer. Queens Borough President Helen Marshall is shown in the bottom photo presenting Taylor and DeSabato with citations.
