Nab R’Wood Man For Groping Woman

Copping a feel of a woman on a Ridgewood street early last Friday morning, Aug. 3, proved costly for a neighborhood man who was busted by police on a sexual abuse charge, law enforcement sources stated.

Police identified the suspect as 50- year-old Zdzislaw Arwuk of Fresh Pond Road.

According to information provided by the Queens District Attorney’s office, the groping occurred at around 1 a.m. last Friday at the corner of Linden Street and Fresh Pond Road.

Reportedly, Arwuk approached a 24-year-old woman from behind and grabbed her breasts. Law enforcement sources said the victim struggled to free herself from his clutches, but ultimately did by pushing him away.

Members of the 104th Precinct responded to the incident, which was also caught on tape by nearby surveillance cameras, according to the criminal complaint.

Arwuk was tracked down a short time later and taken into custody by P.O. Jason Bianchini of the 104th Precinct on charges of third-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and harassment.

Court records indicated that Arwuk was arraigned last Friday in Queens Criminal Court before Judge Michael Yavinsky, who ordered him held on $1,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 13.
