FLUSHING — The Flushing Development Center will be hosting a Moon Festival celebration in Kissena Corridor Park Saturday.
The holiday, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is a chance for families and friends to come together and enjoy a full moon along with good food.
The festivities begin at 2 p.m. with kite flying, which will last until 6 p.m.
From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. a parade of various dance groups, including lion dancers, will march down Main Street from 40th Road to Elder Avenue, and will then perform in the park.
Finally, at 8 p.m. fireworks will light up the sky to cap off the free and family-oriented event.
