Man sentenced to century behind bars in southeast Queens rapes: DA

SPRINGFIELD GARDENS — A 34-year-old man was sentenced to 100 years in jail after he was convicted of raping and sexually assaulting two different women on back-to-back days in 2005, the Queens district attorney said.

Leaman King, 34, was convicted earlier this month on two counts each of rape, sexual assault, kidnapping and weapons possession before Supreme Court Justice Deborah Stevens Modica, who imposed the consecutive sentences totaling 100 years Tuesday, District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Brown said that according to the testimony, King abducted his first victim at gunpoint as she was walking along Springfield Boulevard shortly after midnight in October 2005 and forced her into his car where he raped and sodomized her.

He struck again early the next day, this time abducting and raping the second victim as she walked along Eveleth Road, Brown said.
