Poles Lend Helping Hands to Ridgewood’s Homeless

Though the Christmas season had ended, its spirit of giving continued at St. Matthias Church in Ridgewood on Jan. 16, when members of the Polish community threw a post-holiday party for local homeless individuals. As noted, the event was organized by a number of groups including St. Anthony Homeless SOS and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York. Guests were treated to a buffet of hot food as well as a performance by children’s choirs.
