Police Seek Suspects In C. Hills

Two men were shot and another was stabbed during a violent attack on the Brooklyn side of Highland Park in Cypress Hills Sunday afternoon, May 18, police reported.

According to law enforcement sources, the violence erupted at about 5:46 p.m. inside the park off the intersection of Jamaica Avenue and Cleveland Street.

Reportedly, an unidentified perpetrator-described only by the NYPD as a black male-shot a 20- year-old man twice in the chest and a 17-year-old male in the left thigh.

During the episode, authorities noted, an 18-year-old man was knifed in the left arm.

Officers from the 75th Precinct responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call about the assault. The 20- year-old man and the 18-year-old victim were brought by paramedics to Brookdale University Hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.

The 17-year-old victim reportedly brought himself to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury.

Various police units canvassed the surrounding area for suspects but no immediate arrests were made.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the 75th Precinct Detective Squad, police noted.
