Thousands put their best feet forward in the fight against juvenile diabetes during the annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walk at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park on Sunday morning, Oct. 5. Participants raised funds for the foundation, which is dedicated to battling the pediatric illness that affects millions of children across the country every year. Among those participating in the walk were a team of parents, students and faculty members from Bushwick’s P.S. 299, under the direction of Parent Coordinator Amelia Flores.
