Remembering Superstorm’s Victims

On the second anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz joined residents, clergy members and other elected officials for a memorial service in the Rockaways. Katz praised the people of the Rockaway Peninsula for the great strides that have been made to rebuild the neighborhoods which were greatly devastated by the hurricane. The Borough President also recognized the hard work of local civic leaders during the recovery process and acknowledged that there was still much work to be done before the Rockaways and other storm-affected communities can be said to be whole again.
