Nothing was sacred for a bandit who broke into a mosque in Long Island City earlier this week and stole cash from a donation box and an office.

Police released on Thursday security camera footage of the perpetrator, who was bundled up in a light-colored winter coat while burglarizing the Islamic Center of Bosnia and Herzegovina located at 37-46 Crescent St. at 8:57 p.m. on March 8.

According to law enforcement sources, the crook managed to enter the house of worship through a rear door, then used a tool to pry open a donation box and removed cash. He then forced his way into the nearby imam’s office and removed cash left inside a desk drawer, according to the center’s Facebook page.

All told, authorities said, the bandit left the mosque with $1,500 in cash. The burglary was later reported to the 114th Precinct.

Anyone with information regarding the burglary is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
