An East Elmhurst man has pleaded guilty to charges that he downloaded numerous child pornography videos onto his home computer, prosecutors announced on Monday.

Milton Hilario, 43, pleaded guilty to possessing a sexual performance by a child and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. According to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown, Hilario faces a determinate term of three years in prison, followed by three years of post-release supervision; he must also register as a sex offender.

According to charges, the NYPD used a law enforcement tool on two occasions last year to make contact with an IP address that Hilario used. On the first occasion, officers found a list of Hilario’s files which included a video clip that depicted an adult male sexually abusing a female child who appeared to be between 8 and 11 years of age.

On the second occasion, police found a video of a young female, believed to be between 3 and 6 years old, naked and being sexually assaulted by an adult male.

Law enforcement agents raided Hilario’s home on Oct. 27, 2016. During the search, police recovered from a dresser drawer a silver and black 9 mm handgun and a magazine with six live rounds of ammunition.

District Attorney Brown said, “It is important for the public to remember that the images and videos being exchanged are, for all intents and purposes, photos and footage of crime scenes as they depict real children being cruelly victimized both physically and emotionally and who will have to carry the painful memory of that which occurred to them for the rest of their lives.”
