Police were on the lookout for a suspect who allegedly stole cash from a cell phone store in South Ozone Park earlier this week.

Police said the trouble began Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m., when the armed perpetrator walked into the T-Mobile store located at 134-11 Rockaway Blvd.

According to authorities, he simulated being armed with a firearm and demanded cash. He removed $850 in currency, then fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Officers from the 106th Precinct responded and reported that no one was hurt during the incident.

On Wednesday, the 106th Precinct tweeted out information and a photo of the suspect, who’s described as a black man believed to be 18 to 25 years of age, standing about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark blue jacket with FedEx emblazoned on the front, blue jeans and a dark colored book bag.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts can call the 106th Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 845-2260.
