The Community Fall Giveaway, a partnership between Agape Bethel CDC, The Showing Hearts Foundation, the 103rd Precinct, Royal Waste and several local elected officials will give away 400 turkeys this Tuesday, Nov. 20, in Jamaica.

First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, which is located at 89-60 164th St., will provide space for the giveaway, according to the church’s administrator Panya Wright.

The Nov. 20 event will be from 5 to 8 p.m., according to the 103rd Precinct. Turkeys and other related Thanksgiving staples will be provided to one individual per household.

State Senator Leroy Comrie serves as the point person behind the giveaway. He’s expected to participate in the event along with other elected officials including Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman and City Council Members I. Daneek Miller and Adrienne Adams.

“There will also be a clothing giveaway too,” said Andrew Taranto, a spokesman for Comrie’s office. The limited items will include coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, and gloves, according to Taranto.

“If more than 400 show up we want to make sure that everyone is leaving with something, like winter clothes and household goods,” Taranto added. “It’s a collaborative effort…they are all contributing in some way.”
