A motorcyclist was critically injured when he crashed into an SUV in Jamaica just before noon on Sunday, Oct. 30, according to authorities.

Police from the 113th Precinct in Jamaica responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Merrick Boulevard and 110th Avenue at 11:24 a.m. on Oct. 30 and found the 34-year-old man lying in the roadway. EMS transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

A preliminary investigation determined the man was operating a Flywing motorcycle traveling north on Merrick Boulevard and was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto 110th Avenue when he smashed into a 2022 Toyota RAV 4 which was heading southbound on Merrick Boulevard.

The RAV 4 driver remained on the scene and was not arrested, police said.

An investigation by the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad is ongoing.
