A Long Island man was killed on the Clearview Expressway in Bayside Tuesday afternoon when he was thrown from his motorcycle after he rear-ended a car, according to the NYPD.

Police from the 107th Precinct in Bayside responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision just before 2 p.m. and found the 43-year-old victim lying in the roadway near Exit 4 with severe head and body trauma, police said.

EMS responded to the scene and rushed the man to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where he was pronounced dead.

The NYPD identified the deceased Wednesday as 43-year-old Damien Marines-Valerio of Seaford, Long Island.

A preliminary investigation determined that Marines-Valerio was riding his Ducati motorcycle northbound on the Clearview Expressway when he struck the back of a 2009 Honda Civic, lost control of his motorcycle and wiped out.

The 31-year-old driver of the Honda remained at the scene and was not arrested but the NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad continues to investigate the collision.
