A 92-year-old woman fell victim to a larcenous couple in Lindenwood last month and police from the 106th Precinct in Ozone Park are still searching for the suspects who remain at large.

The senior parked her vehicle in the vicinity of 79th Street and 155th Avenue near the northeast corner of Spring Creek Park at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14. As she was getting out of her vehicle, an unidentified woman approached and engaged her in conversation. While the victim was distracted, a man reached into her vehicle and snatched her purse that contained approximately $400 in cash, police said.

The couple jumped into a gray Ford Flex SUV and sped away from the crime scene traveling eastbound on 155th Avenue toward Cross Bay Boulevard. The victim was not injured.

The NYPD released a photo of the male suspect and described him as having a light complexion, being approximately 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing black-rimmed eyeglasses, a white and blue baseball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and black sneakers.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website, on Twitter @NYPDTips.

As of Jan. 14, the 106th Precinct has reported a dozen grand larcenies so far in 2024, 14 fewer than the 26 reported at the same point last year, a decrease of 53.8%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
