Head to Flushing Town Hall this December for a unique film festival highlighting the vibrant creativity of Asian and Asian American artists. The art institution is presenting its ‘Crazy Talented Asians and Friends 5th Animation Festival on Friday, Dec 6, at 6 p.m. in person and online. The hybrid event will showcase selected films in person and on YouTube Live, with a post-screening mixer at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s event highlights the top 3% of over 1,000 global submissions in animation and short films. Winners were chosen by a panel of professionals based on their storytelling, art direction, animation, production, and sound design. Additionally, the selected films and animations represent the diverse APA community.
Ellen Kodadek, Executive and Artistic Director of Flushing Town Hall said that the art institution is proud to support and amplify emerging artists of Asian heritage. “This festival aligns with our mission to foster arts equity and celebrate diverse perspectives. In collaboration with Crazy Talented Asians & Friends, we are thrilled to provide a platform that celebrates unique, innovative storytelling and showcases the incredible talent in our community. Audiences can expect an inspiring evening filled with imagination, resilience, and cultural pride.”
Ming-I Huang, Guest Producer at Flushing Town Hall, said that the creativity coming from New York City makes it the best place to host this event. “Motion graphic design is a powerful tool for creatives and all businesses. We are thrilled to also present the winners in this new category selected by the industry experts on the CTAF jury.”
