The NYPD is looking for a man who attempted to rob an elderly man in Woodside earlier this month.

On Saturday, Aug. 2, around 7:45 a.m., an 84-year-old man was in front of 43-14 60th St., when an unidentified man came from behind and tried to grab the old man’s wallet from his pants, according to police.

While attempting to steal the wallet, the robber knocked the 84-year-old to the ground, cops said. He hit his head on the pavement and the unidentified man ran off in an unknown direction, according to the NYPD. While the thief didn’t take the victim’s wallet, he did make off with his eyeglasses, cops said.

The 84-year-old was taken to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital in stable condition.

The unidentified man is described as being around 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a thin build and black hair, according to the NYPD. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black sweat pants with white stripes down the leg, black sneakers, a black backpack and a white face mask.

Police recovered surveillance footage of the suspect from the location of the incident.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspects is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782).
