Police Blotter: 20-year-old man robbed by gunmen in Richmond Hill

Although police were still unclear about the relationship, if any, between the victim and the men arrested, a police spokeswoman, Carmen Melendez, said that six men forced their way into 91-19 130th St. Monday and robbed a 20-year-old man at gunpoint.

The police said the men assaulted the 20-year-old, and stole $,1500 cash and a undetermined amount of jewelry.

The victim was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene.

Police arrested John Chung Jr., 24, John Chung Sr., 48, and Alexander Chung, 17, of the first-floor of the same address where the robbery occurred, and Leon Sukhnandan, 18, of 335 Grand Ave., Melendez said.

The four men were each charged first-degree robbery. Two other men were being sought.

Man with duffle bag attacked, robbed by two men in Corona

CORONA – A man carrying a duffle bag containing jewlery and cash was attacked and robbed Tuesday night while he waited for a bus, the police said.

The 32-year-old man was standing at a bus stop at Roosevelt Avenue and 110th Street around 6:30 p.m., when two men walked up to him and slashed him in the face, said Officer Joe Cavitolo, a police spokesman. The assailants took a duffel bag the man was carrying, which contained $10,000 in cash and $150,000 in jewlery, police said.

The man was treated by an ambulance at the scene, the police said. No arrests were made.

Teens robbed at gunpoint at Howard Beach station

HOWARD BEACH – Five young men were charged Monday with robbing two teenagers waiting for a train at the Howard Beach station, police said.

Police arrested five men between 16 and 22 and charged them with first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, said Carmen Melendez, a police spokeswoman. The police did not immediately disclose the defendants' names.

The men were accused of robbing at gunpoint a 13-year-old and a 17-year-old as they waited on the platform for an A train. The men took cash from both of the victims, the police said.

No one was hurt.

21-year-old charged with raping 10-year-old girl in Ravenswood

RAVENSWOOD – A 21-year-old man was in custody Friday afternoon, charged with raping a 10-year-old girl who lived at his house, police said.

Jorge Jarro was charged with first-degree rape after the girl told police that she had been raped back in September, said Sgt. Brian Burke, a police spokesman. The police said that Jarro lived in the same house as the girl, but they did not know how the two were related, if at all.

Because of the nature of the attack, the police would say only that the attack occurred in the vicinity of 35th Road and 14th Street.

Teen stabbed in robbery on J subway platform

WOODHAVEN – A 16-year-old boy was stabbed three times Nov. 22 while standing on a J train subway platform at 75th and Jamaica avenues in Woodhaven in an apparent robbery attempt, police said.

Four or five robbers, all teenagers, tried to steal the victim's black puffy jacket shortly after noon, said Sgt. Madelyne Galindo, a police spokeswoman. When the victim resisted, the police said, the assailants stabbed the man in the abdomen, the arm and the back.

The assailants fled into two waiting cars, the police said, one a black Nissan Maxima, the other an unidentified brown vehicle.

The victim was listed in serious but stable condition at Jamaica Hospital.

Police were investigating.

Woman shot in Woodhaven, listed in stable condition

WOODHAVEN – A 33-year-old woman was listed in stable condition at Mary Immaculate Hospital after being shot early Saturday morning, police said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was standing in front of a deli at 85th and Jamaica avenues when she was shot once in the buttocks, said Sgt. Brian Burke, a police spokesman.

The woman was driven to the hospital by her husband, police said.

Police were investigating.

Douglaston Manor teen arrested in NE Queens graffiti: Report

DOUGLASTON MANOR – A teenager suspected of scrawling graffiti throughout Bayside and Douglaston in the last few years turned himself into police Tuesday night, according to a published report.

Newsday said Mario Nardello, 18, of Douglaston Manor, was responsible for causing $20,000 of property damage during the last few years. His tag, “Chex,” the report said, appeared on the walls of restaurants and homes, churches and overpasses, from Bayside to Douglaston.

The report said Nardello would probably be charged with eight counts of third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and more than 150 misdemeanors.

Two Bronx men arrested in Fresh Meadows burglary

FRESH MEADOWS – Police made two arrests following reports of a burglary of an apartment on 186th Lane inside the Fresh Meadows Development, said Office Kevin Mulrooney of the Queens South Task Force.

Arrested were Ronald Bosa, 31, of Hull Avenue in the Bronx, and Pablo Jiminez, 33, of Walton Avenue, also in the Bronx, he said. The two were arrested by officers from the Queens South Task Force at about 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Property was recovered, and an investigation was continuing, said Mulrooney, one of the arresting officers.

Bosa tried to flee police but was captured after a brief chase on foot and then a struggle in which an officer's hand was injured ensued, he said. Bosa was charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, first- and second-degree assault, and possession of stolen property, Mulrooney said.

Jiminez was charged with first and second degree burglary, and criminal trespassing, he said. Both were awaiting arraignment.

Bronx 20-year-old charged with 3 Queens robberies

THE BRONX – A Bronx man was arrested Monday and charged with robbing two restaurants and a warehouse in Queens, the police said.

The man, Wesley Gabriel, 20, was arrested around 7 p.m. and charged with first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, said Carmen Melendez, a police spokesman.

Police said Gabriel committed the robberies between Oct. 28 and Nov. 18. The first robbery occurred at the Boston Market at 83-02 Atlantic Ave., the police said. The second one, on Nov. 1, occurred at a warehouse at 89-10 130th St., the police said. And the third store robbed, the police said, was a Pizza Hut at 125-10 Queens Blvd.

Slurs scrawled on Briarwood mailbox

BRIARWOOD – Racial slurs were found on a mailbox around midnight Monday, police said.

Officer Valerie St. Rose, a police spokeswoman, said she did not know the specifics of the messages found on a mailbox on the corner of 84th Avenue and 135th Street.

The police were treating this as a bias incident, she said.

Fresh Meadows drugstore burglarized early Monday

FRESH MEADOWS – A drugstore was burglarized early Monday morning, and cigarettes and phone cards were among the items stolen, police said.

The burglary occurred at the CVS drugstore at 61-26 188th St., said Carmen Melendez, a police spokeswoman.

The burglar or burglars smashed through a front window, setting off an alarm, and stole 180 cartons of cigarettes, and a quantity of phone cards and razor blades, police said.

Flushing smoke shop burglarized; $700 taken

FLUSHING – At least one assailant burglarized a smoke shop on Stratton Street Sunday morning, police said.

Entering by carving a hole through the roof, the burglar or burglars took 70 cartons of cigarettes, a quantity of MetroCards and $700 in cash from the store at 30-19 Stratton St., said Carmen Melendez, a police spokeswoman.

Police were investigating.

Man stabbed in stomach at Jamaica Hills intersection

JAMAICA HILLS – A 39-year-old man was in serious condition Wednesday after being stabbed once in the abdomen, the police said.

The man was stabbed while standing on the corner of Hillside Avenue and 169th Street around 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, said Officer Joe Cavitolo, a police spokesman. The man was taken to Mary Immaculate hospital and was listed in serious condition, the police said. No arrests were made.

Three shot in leg at Jamaica Ave. bar

QUEENS VILLAGE – Three men were shot outside a bar Sunday morning following an argument that started inside, police said.

The men – 29, 26, and 38, all not identified – were all shot in the leg outside of Tony's Sport Bar at 221-13 Jamaica Ave. around 4:20 a.m., said Officer Louis Cruz, a police spokesman.

The men were taken to North Shore Hospital. None of the gun-shot injuries were serious, police said.

Police were investigating.

Rockaways woman robs 75-year-old woman: Cops

ROCKAWAYS – A 37-year-old woman was in police custody Friday night, charged with stealing money from a 75-year-old woman in her building, the police said.

Mary Lunsford of 57-07 Shorefront Pkwy., was charged with robbery and burglary, said Sgt. Brian Burke, a police spokesman.

Police said that Lunsford, whose address is the same as that of the woman whom she robbed, knocked on the woman's door, entered her apartment and demanded money. Lunsford took $70 from the woman and fled, the police said. She was arrested around 4:45 p.m.

Rockaways teen charged with molesting 3-year-old

THE ROCKAWAYS – An 18-year-old man was arrested Sunday night, charged with molesting a 3-year-old girl in his home, the police said.

The man, Arthur Bailey, was charged with sexual abuse, said Carmen Melendez, a police spokeswoman. Melendez said that the 3-year-old knows Bailey but he did not explain their relationship.

Because of the nature of the crime, the police declined to say where the attack occurred other than that it happened somewhere in the 100th Precinct.
