Highfield Gardens to hold senior seminar

Highfield Gardens Care Center combines state-of-the-art equipment with quality care to create the best experience possible for its patients.
Located in Great Neck, Highfield Gardens has a total of 200 beds, including a 40-bed rehabilitation unit, an 80-bed dementia unit and 80 beds for geriatric long-term care.
Among the facility's full range of services are subacute care, specialty wound care, occupational therapy, a neuroscience program, pain management, hospice and palliative care, an adult day health care center, Alzheimer's and dementia care, antibiotic therapy and cardiac rehabilitation. Highfield Gardens also offers a special six-day rehab program, where patients receive up to three hours of therapy each day.
Highfield Gardens Care Center has equipped its rehab department with some of the newest equipment. It will be adding an aquasizer to the rehab department as part of a hydrotherapy program that is being created.
&#8220You'll find a lot of equipment here that you won't find anywhere else,” said John Armstrong, the Director of Rehab at Highfield Gardens Care Center.
Armstrong added that another thing that sets Highfield Gardens apart from other facilities is the amount of therapy patients get and the amount of individual attention.
Along with having excellent equipment, Highfield Gardens also has created an atmosphere to make patients feel more comfortable. It has been renovated and includes state of the art equipment, such as flat screen televisions and will soon have internet access and computer stations.
&#8220It's very home-like,” said Bridget Gallo, Director of Admissions, adding that the look is similar to that of a hotel.
Gallo said that Highfield Gardens gets a great deal of positive feedback from patients and that they leave feeling &#8220very pleased” with their experiences. Armstrong has also stated that he receives numerous accolades and has had many success stories.
