Fatal Hit-And-Run On GCP, Man Arrested

A collision on the Grand Central Parkway on February 7 left one man dead, another in critical condition, and a 34-year-old under arrest.
According to police, two cars collided. One of the vehicles fled the scene; the three passengers in the other vehicle exited the car at which time two were struck by a third car.
The driver, Christian Melendez, 28, was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital and pronounced dead. The front passenger was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition. The third passenger was unharmed.
The driver of the first car, Christopher Savini, has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious physical injury.
