Police officer inspires youth

Police Officer Christopher Innace recently visited the the Pre-K program at Our Lady of Grace School in Howard Beach. Innace went to the school on his day off and gave a presentation to the class. When Innace showed up dressed in his uniform, the children looked up at him as though he were a superhero. All of the children were ecstatic, especially the boys. When Innace asked if anyone knew what police officers do, the boys all responded that, “they shoot the bad guys and put them in jail.” Innace then spoke with them and stressed that police officers are their friends and that they protect the neighborhood. The children asked many questions and Innace answered all of them. He taught them about 9- 1- 1 and then he showed them all of the gadgets on his belt. He even let them hold the little flashlight and gave them coloring books and crayons.
