It is hardly a secret that good and skilled employees are in demand, but actually finding and keeping them is hardly an easy task. One of the best places to start looking for a good new employee is with your current employees. Ask your staff for their opinions, since they are already familiar with your businesses needs and can often suggest or refer excellent candidates. Newspapers are still great avenues to post ads. Metro newspapers and local papers are sometimes even better sources because they target specific areas that would be more employee-friendly with regard to commuting and neighborhood atmosphere. Given how much time we now all spend on the Internet, it will come as no surprise to anyone that recruiting online is a terrific place to market an ad to target an employee for your business. So How's Business in regard to Queens business owners finding good employees for their small to mid-sized businesses? For the most part, the approach and blueprints are the same. Place an ad, be it in a periodical or on the Internet, and look to aggressively pursue the recommendations given to you from colleagues, employees and associates. Carefully analyze your results, interview the best candidates and never hire on emotion. If this all sounds like a lot of work, then take a moment and think about one of your best employees. Now ask yourself how much time and effort you would expend to find someone else like him or her.
