One-man Klezmer band Doug Leblang returned to the North Shore Towers Country Club on Wednesday, December 12 to once again entertain residents with his many talents.
During the show, Leblang played the accordion, keyboard and clarinet, while also singing in both English and Yiddish. He told jokes throughout the show as well.
The performance included a wide variety of songs, such as Klezmer music, a tango, excerpts from “Fiddler on the Roof,” and Hanukah songs. Leblang also read a Hanukah poem.
Prior to playing his music, Leblang took a moment to explain what Klezmer music is, explaining that it translates to “vessel of song.”
“The main thing about Klezmer music is it’s for having fun,” he said.
Many of the residents who were in attendance during Leblang’s performance in the VIP Room clapped along with the music and even sang during some of the songs.
