“Klezmer Music with the David Glukh Klezmer Ensemble” will take place at the Forest Hills Library on Monday, December 1. It will feature traditional European Jewish music from countries like Romania, Russia and Bulgaria. The members of the ensemble are piccolo trumpeter David Glukh, accordionist Ronn Yedidia and violinist Dan Auerbach. On Saturday, December 6, “Magic & Mystery with Master Magician, Mentalist & Escape Artist Michael Lee” will be held at the Bayside Library at 2 p.m. The Bayside Library is located at 214-20 Northern Boulevard. Its phone number is 718-229-1834.
A concert at the Auburndale Library at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6 will feature soprano Teresa Mazzilli performing popular music from the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s. Some of the songs will include “You’ll Never Know,” “It Had to Be You,” and “Embraceable You.” The Auburndale Library is located at 25-55 Francis Lewis Boulevard in Flushing. “Fools for Love Featuring Jazz Vocalist Christiana Drapkin” will be held at the Elmhurst Library at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 6. Works by composers such as George & Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker and Kurt Weill will be featured in the concert. At 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, “The Jewish Graphic Novel: History, Heritage, Hardship & Hope” will be held at the Flushing Library. The discussion will feature Dr. Susan Jacobowitz, who is an assistant professor in the English Department at Queensborough Community College. The Flushing Library is located at 41-17 Main Street. “Tenor Salvatore Chiarelli in Concert: Italian Songs, Love Ballads & Musical Theatre” will take place at the North Hills Library at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 11. There will be songs in both English and Italian, including “O Sole Mio,” “Ritorna a Me,” “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “If I Loved You.” The library is located at 57-04 Marathon Parkway in Little Neck and can be reached at 718-225-3550.
At 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, “Around the World with Violinist Leonid Levin Featuring Jewish and Russian Music” will take place at the Lefrak City Library. Steve Charles will perform a tribute to music of the 1950s during a concert at the Whitestone Library on Saturday, December 13 at 2 p.m. It will include music by artists such as Chuck Berry, Dion and the Belmonts, and Bill Haley and the Comets. Hendrik Meurken’s New York Samba Jazz Quartet will perform at Flushing Town Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 5. The German-born Meurken plays the chromatic harmonica and vibraphone. The other members of the group are pianist Helio Alves, drummer Adriano Santos and bassist Gustavo Amarante.
Indian vocalist Falu and her band of the same name will perform on Sunday, December 7 at 2 p.m. The concert is being held in collaboration with the Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concert Series.

The 5th Annual Holiday Spectacular will be held in the Colden Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 6. The concert will include Kenny Vance and The Planotones, The Crystals, Larry Chance and The Earls, Willie Winfield and The Harptones, Vito Picone and The Elegants, Cleveland Still and The Dubs, The Happenings, and The Quotations. Tickets cost $55 for front orchestra, $50 for rear orchestra and $40 for mezzanine.
