Verizon offers PDA tutorials

Verizon Communications will be offering consumers the latest tips on how to use key cell phone features in two free workshops this month designated for those without access to IT support.
On Thursday, November 13 and Monday, November 24, the Verizon Wireless Communications Store located at 31-25 Steinway Street in Astoria will be hosting a free workshop, “20 Things Your PDA Can Do For You,” from 4 to 7 p.m. for anyone who wants to know more about their cellular phones.
Now, for the first time, Verizon is offering technical support, to consumers who don’t have the privilege of learning how to maximize all the capabilities their new wireless devices have to offer. The company is offering free PDA and Smartphone workshops at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores throughout the New York Metro area to help customers learn how to make these devices work for them. Each class will answer customers’ specific product and service questions so they can get in-depth information on what matters most to them - easily and quickly.
“The traditional business tool has become a life management tool,” said Pat Devlin, president of the company’s New York Metro Region. “These wireless devices are packed with rich, multimedia capabilities and services, allowing customers to stay connected to work, family and friends while on-the-go. Participants will receive uninterrupted hands-on instruction that will enable them to maximize our wireless products and services to meet their everyday communications needs.”
The classes are expected to fill up quickly and seating is limited. Topics covered will include text messaging, how to sync your address book; how to use Bluetooth and other accessories; music synchronization, email management and Internet browsing. Ideal for everyone from the small business owner to the soccer mom, customers will receive free hands-on tutorials from local Verizon Wireless data experts.
Registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. To register call the store at 718-956-3900 or visit https://www.nympdaworkshops.wds.vzw.com/
