Man arrested after accident

A man who was hailed as hero in 1994 for helping to save the life of a subway passenger was arrested on December 19. According to police, Sandy Levine, 46, has been charged with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. He had been driving a red GMC Envoy at 164th Street and Underhill Avenue in Fresh Meadows when his girlfriend, 41-year-old Judy Buccheri, jumped out of the moving vehicle. Levine stopped and stayed on the scene, but Buccheri was pronounced dead. He was not charged in connection with her death.
