Graffiti, noise hot topics
for Our Neighbors Civic

At the most recent meeting of the Our Neighbors Civic Association, local politicians and police updated the community on various issues.
Additionally, two new board members were voted on, and both will be sworn in at next month’s meeting.
Held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ozone Park on Tuesday, September 1, guest speakers included State Senator Joseph Addabbo and City Councilmember Eric Ulrich, running for re-election, who informed those assembled that his graffiti initiative is well under way.
Ulrich said that 101st Avenue has been cleaned up, and crews will now begin working on Woodhaven and Cross Bay Boulevards, followed by Rockaway Boulevard.
He urged anyone who knows about unsightly graffiti to call a dedicated hotline – 718-738-1429 – to report the vandalism and request free clean-up services.
Also in attendance were Deputy Inspector Charles McEvoy, Commanding Officer of the 102nd Precinct, who addressed noise complaints and informed residents to call 3-1-1; and Community Affairs Officer Kenneth Zorn of the 106th Precinct, who spoke on a recent rash of burglaries.
