The members of the St. Anastasia Leo Club, the youth auxiliary of the Lions Club, had their annual fundraising spaghetti dinner on Saturday, January 23.
The group, drawn from students at the former parish school now known as Divine Wisdom Academy, raised money to benefit the school, local charities such as the Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps and Haiti relief.
The kids did a lot of the food preparation, with help from the Lions of course, and raised over $900, though they were hoping for more.
“They’re going to do some car washes to make up the difference,” said an admiring Charles McBride, president of the Little Neck Lions club and Leo’s advisor.
