The Queens County Committee of the American Legion, designated by the City of New York as an organizational friend of indigent veterans, will preside at the funeral of Joseph Pictrowicz, who passed away with no resources.
A short service service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, at George Werst Funeral Home, located at 7141 Cooper Avenue in Glendale.
The remains will then be transported to the National Cemetery at Calverton, Long Island, where there be a military funeral, according to Paul J. Schottenhamel, Adjutant of the Queens Legion. All friends of indigent veterans are invited to attend.
