CORONA — A Bronx woman was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a controlled substance and three traffic violations after she was allegedly driving erratically in Corona, a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
An officer from the 115th Precinct noticed Alexis Pichardo, 21, of 360 E. 137th St. in the Bronx, driving a 2001 Chrysler 300 at a high rate of speed on icy roads between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. Jan. 7 in front of 104-12 38th Ave. in Corona, according to the criminal complaint.
Pichardo then allegedly made a left turn onto 104th Street without signalling and continued to speed in a residential area before making another left onto 38th Avenue without signalling as she swerved from side to side, almost striking another motorist, the complaint said.
The officer eventually stopped Pichardo’s car and allegedly saw a glass pipe filled with cocaine sticking out of the rear seat of the car, the complaint said.
Pichardo was arraigned Jan. 7 on charges of reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a controlled substance and three traffic violations before Queens Criminal Court Judge Suzanne Melendez, who released her on her own recognizance, the spokeswoman said.
Pichardo’s next court date was scheduled for Feb. 3, the spokeswoman said.
