Baysider broke window of KFC with trash can: DA

FLUSHING — A Bayside resident was arraigned on charges of reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, petit larceny and harassment Feb. 2 for allegedly stealing food from a Kentucky Fried Chicken at 136-04 Northern Blvd. in Flushing and then throwing a garbage can through the glass window of the store when the manager of the store refused to serve him again, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Michael Bennett, 23, of 23rd Avenue near 211th Street, allegedly came to the store Jan. 31 at 3:30 p.m., ordered food and left without paying, the DA said. The next day, at approximately 3:33 p.m., Bennett returned to the store, after which the manager refused to serve Bennett and asked him to leave, the DA said.

Upon being told to leave, Bennett left the store and allegedly picked up a garbage can and threw it through the Kentucky Fried Chicken’s window, causing the glass to shatter and endangering the customers, the DA said.
