Springing into action

Bayside Little Leaguers were back in action on the diamond on Saturday, April 9 with their annual parade and an array of games showcasing the new crop of young talent.

One of those tilts featured American Office defeating Fam Logistics, 4-0 in the Texas Division on Saturday. John Callahan starred for American Office, both with the bat and on the mound. He pitched five and two thirds innings of no hit ball, while racking up 17 strikeouts. At the plate, he hit a 3-run homer to break a scoreless tie in the fourth inning. For Fam Logistics, Kevin O’Connor pitched four strong innings, striking out eight. Anthony Guelleme made two outstanding plays in the field at first base for Fam Logistics.

On Sunday, Carollo Real Estate battled Whitestone Periodontics & Dental in a game where both teams displayed their skill and sportsmanship on the field. Joseph Reid played a great game, making a diving catch at second base at a crucial point in the game. He also went 2-for-2 at the plate, giving the crowd a real thrill. Yianni Kormusis was a little league standout as well, making a stop at first base that would make any highlight reel. Kormusis showed skill at the plate as well, smacking a double and driving in a run.
