Regents review on demand
School’s almost out for summer, but before kids can enjoy the weather many have to pass their Regents exam. Reviewing for these end of the year exams is now as easy as turning on your television.
Regents Review 2.0 is now available for free on Time Warner On-Demand Channel 1111. The series can also be viewed on WLIW Channel 21.
The shows, hosted by master teachers, are one hour in-depth reviews on 13 different Regents subjects. The subjects covered are Spanish, French, English, Italian, Integrated Algebra, Geometry, Algebra2/Trigonometry, Earth Science, Living Environment, Physics, Global History & Geography, US History & Government and Chemistry.
Gas prices continue to fall
Though gas prices are still one dollar higher than a year ago, they have fallen almost 25 cents in the past month.
Gas prices in the city decreased to $4.078, after approaching all-time record highs last month, according to AAA’s fuel gauge report. Prices have dropped three cents over the past week.
Last year, prices at the pump came in at under three dollars.
Prices are also declining slightly around the country – national averages are $3.703, seven cents lower than a week ago.
Lock your car doors
Officers from the 109th Precinct arrested two males at 5 a.m. Friday morning for burglarizing multiple parked vehicles. Police say the suspects from Flushing – one black male 20, and one white male, 19 – had a bag full of GPS units and pocketbooks when they were apprehended on 24th Avenue and 160th Street after riding their bikes through Bayside, Flushing, Whitestone and Malba. The 109th Precinct would like to remind all Queens residents to keep car doors locked overnight and to report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
