Celebrating Moms at Woodside Mother’s Day March

Thousands of people laced up their walking shoes in order to raise funds to help patients fight breast cancer during the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park on Sunday morning

Rather than flowers and cards, Woodside residents offered mothers a special token of gratitude with the annual Mother’s Day Parade sponsored by Woodside On the Move and held last Saturday morning, May 12, along Skillman Avenue. Among those participating in the parade were members of the Sunnyside Drum Corps and City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer (at center), who brought his mother Elizabeth along to enjoy the festivities.
