Critically Injured In B’Wick Shooting
Police are still seeking clues behind the shooting of a 24-year-old man at a Bushwick playground last Thursday night, July 12, it was reported.
The victim remains hospitalized critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to his left eye.
Law enforcement sources said the victim was injured as gunfire erupted at around 8 p.m. last Thursday night in a playground adjacent to P.S. 45, located on Schaefer Street between Bushwick and Evergreen avenues.
According to published reports, the violence may have started as a result of a dispute stemming from a basketball game on the playground’s court.
Members of the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The 24-year-old man was rushed by paramedics to Kings County Hospital Center.
Various police units canvassed the surrounding area for suspects and clues, but despite their efforts, no immediate arrests were made, authorities stated.
The case was presented to the 83rd Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, police said.
