RICHMOND HILL — A 47-year-old man was arrested and accused of filling buckets with gasoline over the weekend, the NYPD said.
According to police, Yunus Latif, 47, was accused of filling 30 5-gallon Home Depot buckets with gasoline at Valero station in Orange, N.J. after collecting money from his neighbors. He planned on bringing the gasoline back into his neighborhood, where he had no electricity, the NYPD said.
Police said the gasoline was returned to underground storage tanks following the incident.
