Paradise Aquarium jumped out to an early lead on Cutrone’s Lawmen and captured a 16-7 victory last Sunday, Apr. 14 at the Ridgewood-Glendale-Middle Village-Maspeth Little League game.
Scoring seven runs in the first three innings allowed Paradise to put the game away early.
An RBI double by Faith, an RBI triple by Julian, and an RBI single by Nick in the first inning, as well as a two-run single by Luis T during the second inning, fueled Paradise’s offense in the early-going.
Paradise increased its lead with two runs in the third. Mike kicked things off with a single. In the fourth, Paradise scored on an error, bringing home Faith.
Cutrones Lawmen scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut its deficit to three. A groundout by #18 and a two-run double by Nick gave Cutrones life. The Cutrones threat came to an end when Mike finally got Frank to strike out.
Paradise again scored one in the fifth, and added seven more runs in the top of the sixth. The inning looked promising, as Julian homered to kick things off. That was followed up by Mike’s double, scoring Chris and ending the game 16-7.
Julian had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.
Paradise easily handled Cutrones pitching, as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 10 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
Pitcher Mike recorded the win for Paradise even though he allowed five runs over four innings. He struck out nine, walked two and gave up seven hits.
