FLUSHING — A Flushing teacher was sentenced to six months in prison and labeled a sex offender for life for having sex with a student, the district attorney said.
Daniel Reilly, 36, a former sixth-grade English teacher at IS 237 in Flushing, pleaded guilty to rape in May, admitting to engaging in sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl at his Forest Hills home in April 2013, District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Reilly struck a deal in order to spare the student the burden of testifying at a trial, the New York Post reported.
