Police released a sketch of a suspect wanted in the attempted rape of a 10-year-old girl in Jamaica earlier this week.

A man in his 30s allegedly shoved a sixth-grader to the ground and tried to rape her at about 7:15 a.m. Monday morning while she was on her way to school in Fresh Meadows, police and education officials said.

The child was walking along 168th Street near Douglas Avenue at the time of the attack, the NYPD said. The man allegedly threatened the girl, according to the city Department of Education, although police did not reveal what he said. Cops said the suspect fled when a vehicle drove past.

The girl then went on her school, where she reported the alleged attack to school officials, the DOE said.

The officials contacted the girl’s parents and the NYPD, which released a sketch of the suspect early Thursday.

The school will be providing counseling for the 10-year-old, the DOE said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS, submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at www.crimestoppers.com or text info to 274637(CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
