Two unidentified people died after their car hurtled off of the Long Island Expressway, turned on its side and struck a tree in Flushing just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, the NYPD said.
The male driver and female passenger were traveling westbound on the expressway in an Audi sedan when the accident occurred between the Utopia Parkway and Kissena Boulevard exits, police said.
The pair was unconscious and unresponsive when authoritiess arrived, and both were pronounced dead at the site of the crash by Emergency Medical Services, according to cops.
The NYPD said the investigation into the crash was ongoing and the victims had not been identified as their families had not been notified.
