Supreme Visit to Elmhurst School

Rep. Grace Meng joined Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor as she visited I.S. 5, the Walter H. Crowley School of Leadership in Elmhurst on Friday, May 16. Sotomayor spoke to students in the school’s auditorium about her historic climb to the nation’s highest court, and she took questions and photos with the children as well. She was introduced by Meng, who arranged the visit; and the school’s Principal Kelly Nepogoda delivered opening remarks. Meng invited Sotomayor to her district after the two met last fall in Washington, D.C. Shown in the center of the auditorium (from left to right) are Meng, Sotomayor and Nepogoda.
