Attacked Her While Selling Ice Cream
A Middle Village man and ice cream truck operator was busted in Suffolk County last Wednesday, June 4, for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl last month, law enforcement sources said.
The Suffolk County Police Department identified him as 63- year-old Muhammad Chaudhry of 69th Street.
Authorities said Chaudhry allegedly attacked the girl while peddling ice cream in Wyandanch at about 7:25 p.m. on May 21.
Reportedly, the girl approached his truck on a neighborhood street in an attempt to buy ice cream. During the transaction, law enforcement sources stated, Chaudhry allegedly fondled the victim.
The incident was later reported to the Suffolk County Police Department, and the case was presented to the department’s Special Victims Section for further investigation.
Detectives reportedly tracked down Chaudhry last Wednesday as he operated his truck on North 16th Street in Wyandanch and took him into custody. He was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to court records, Chaudhry was ordered held on $150,000 bond or $50,000 cash during his arraignment in Suffolk County Criminal Court last Thursday, June 5.
