Elderly pedestrian killed by car in Jamaica Estates

An elderly man was hit and killed by a teenage driver in the vicinity of 188th Street and Wicklow Place in Jamaica Estates, the NYPD said.

At around 3:09 p.m., a 17-year-old male was traveling southbound on 188th Street in his 2013 Mazda and made a right turn to westbound Wicklow Place, when he allegedly struck Ignacio Andal, 84, in the middle of the roadway as he was walking across Wicklow Place, the police said.

Andal, who lives in Jamaica Estates, was taken to New York Hospital Queens where he was pronounced dead.

As of Monday, police did not suspect criminiality.
