The 109th Precinct and the We Love Whitestone Civic Association are hosting the second annual Family Fun Day in Whitestone later this month.
The event, which took place in Whitestone for the first time last year, will be held Sept. 26 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Francis Lewis Park on 3rd Avenue between Parsons Boulevard and 147th Street.
The festivities will include pony rides, rock wall climbing, face painting, a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, popcorn, cotton candy, children’s rides and a video game truck arcade.
Alfred Centola, president of We Love Whitestone, said the event seeks to bring together neighbors to celebrate the end of summer and have a good time.
“It’s just a family day for the community,” Centola said.
Police officers from the 109th Precinct will be serving food from a barbecue at the event. Local businesses donated hot dogs and burgers as well.
Local bands are going to play at the event and music will be provided by Music & Passion Entertainment, a music entertainment company.
