A 19-year-old East Elmhurst woman was slashed while jogging Sunday morning in Jackson Heights, according to the NYPD. The victim was at the corner of 79th Street and 25th Avenue just after 11 a.m. when a man ran up beside her and slashed her in the left thigh with an unknown weapon, police said.
The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center and was treated for an inch-long gash. The suspect ran away.
Police described the man as Hispanic and in his mid-20s. He was dressed in a gray sweatshirt with black shorts and black sneakers, officials said.
