A woman died and a man was injured after an unoccupied van plowed into them on an Astoria street on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

At 2:07 p.m. on Aug. 31, police found a 80-year-old female and 71-year-old-male at Broadway and 32nd Street with trauma to the body and head.

Both victims, who have not been identified pending family notification, were taken to a local hospital; the woman was pronounced dead, and the man is in stable condition.

An investigation found that a 29-year-old man parked a white Ford van at the corner of 32nd Street and Broadway and left the vehicle.

The Ford rolled backward on 32nd Street and struck both pedestrians before colliding into a food cart.

There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
