ConEdison reported outages throughout the borough as a result of Monday’s nor’easter. Downed lines caused 374 outages throughout Queens and 359 in Douglaston alone.
A spokesman from the company, Sidney Alvarez, said the outage was weather related, possibly the result of a broken tree branch, and that estimated time of restoration of service is 11 p.m.
The spokesman warned of the danger of downed lines, and said the public should avoid broken wires at all costs.
“Stay away from downed wires – treat them as if they are still active,” he said.
Residents should call 911 or ConEd to report outages and downed wires.
